The Playmakers: Viral Stars Get Dramatic For New Web Series

Viral video stars The Playmakers have premiered their first web series, “Flawed,” a faith-based drama produced by the trio and written and directed by one-third of the troop, Jason Fredericks.

The series stars Nathaniel Scott (Pastor William Young) and Jor él Quinn (Kenny) and chronicles the story of an aspiring bishop of a popular church who may lose everything he’s worked hard to build amidst scandal in his church.

The web series dabbles in some controversial areas regarding church culture.

“There’s a side to church that people don’t talk about but everyone knows about. I wanted to tell that story. I also want people to understand how their choices affect the people around them and that people in all positions are faced with some very tough decisions,” said Fredericks, who created the series as well.

Expanding into the dramatic realm is new for The Playmakers, best known for online spoofs of churchgoers shouting, choir antics and other activity synonymous in the church world.

The web series is the first production under the umbrella of the newly formed media company, Eighty-One Films, which Fredericks formed with long-time business partner Selwyn Roberts.
