Blacks On Broadway: Keke Palmer & Sherri Shepherd Make History With “Cinderella”
Two big stars are headed to the Great White Way!
Keke Palmer has signed on to play Cinderella in the Rodgers & Hammerstein production bearing the same name. The 22-year-old singer/actress will be the first African-American to portray the title character in the stage show.
Outgoing “The View” host Sherri Shepherd will also star in the musical. Shepherd will join the show as Palmer’s character’s evil stepmother, Madame, the first African-American to play that role as well.

Shepherd, who recently signed on to appear in “Ride Along 2” alongside Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, is also co-starring with Chris Rock, Hart and J.B. Smoove in the comedy film “Top Five” that will premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
