Patti LaBelle: Ready To Be Your Culinary Queen
It’s no secret that Patti LaBelle loves to cook.
The Grammy-winning entertainer has prepared meals on national talk shows and even has a line of sauces and marinades sold nationwide in more than 600 stores.
Now the 70-year-old vocalist is ready to hit the frozen food section. LaBelle is readying the launch of Patti Cakes, a line of crab cakes that will be available in grocery stores.
“I’m not telling anyone what I put in my crab cakes, but they are fantastic, honey,” she said. “People are going to love them.”

Additionally, her signature ‘Over The Rainbow’ macaroni and cheese that she famously made on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” will be mass produced for consumers as well.
Like her good friend Gladys Knight, the Philadelphia-bred LaBelle is ready to get into the restaurant business as well. “I’m opening some restaurants,” she shared recently. The goal is to get the frozen food line launched prior to the restaurant endeavor.
Food isn’t LaBelle’s only focus right now. This fall, she’ll release her first jazz-standards album, something inspired by her work in Broadway’s “After Midnight.”
The disc will be her first release since her 2008 reunion CD with her LaBelle group members Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash called “Back To Now.”
