Women Are Watching: “The Real” Is Strong With Target Audience
On Sept. 16, 2014, AlwaysAList.com reported that the new syndicated talk show “The Real” had soft ratings with its debut.
The daytime show hosted by Loni Love, Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon landed a 0.9 rating on its first episode and was down 40-percent below its lead-in from the show’s it replaced in its time slot.

Now, after being on several weeks, the ensemble chat show is posting some overall growth and winning in certain demographics.
“The Real” is now averaging a 1.0 overall rating. The show is also top-rated among women debut shows with the 18 to 34-year-old audience—the age group advertisers deem most important.
“The Real” is also showing large numbers in the 18 to 49-year-old age demographic and the 25 to 54-year-old segment.
The Los Angeles-based talk show is the first nationally syndicated daytime show with an all minority lineup of hosts.
“The Real” is produced by Telepictures Productions in association with 495 Productions and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.
