Radio Silent: Oprah Winfrey Goes Off Air
After eight year, the Oprah Winfrey’s channel on SiriusXM is no more as of January 1.
The satellite radio channel launched in February 2006 originally on XM Radio before their merger with Sirius. The deal was worth a reported $55 million for the “Oprah and Friends” platform. Once Sirius and XM merged, the station was changed to Oprah Radio.

“Harpo Radio and SiriusXM have announced that the production of Oprah Radio content on SiriusXM ended effective Jan. 1. Since its launch, the channel has provided informative and uplifting daily programming for SiriusXM listeners who are striving to live their best lives,” a statement from SiriusXM about the channel read.
Winfrey’s Harpo Productions has not released a formal statement on the end of the radio channel.
