The TV titan tweeted about her experience hanging out with Rihanna in the 24-year-old “Umbrella” singer’s homeland.
“What a refreshing surprise she is,” Winfrey wrote via her official Twitter account @Oprah.
Rihanna apparently enjoyed meeting Winfrey for the first time as well, because she also tweeted about their encounter.

Eric Benet got to meet one of his biggest fans during a stop on the “Be Good To Yourself Tour” with Ledisi. Benet got a surprise visit from First Lady Michelle Obama, who went backstage at Constitutional Hall in Washington, DC to meet the soul star. “There is not a time when I’m flying in a plane or helicopter that I’m not listening to one or all of your CDs,” Mrs. Obama told Benet.
Actress Lynn Whitfield appeared at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Summer Press Conference for the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel. The 59-year-old Emmy Award winner stars in the upcoming TV movie “Somebody’s Child,” which premieres on the Gospel Music Channel on Aug. 11.
“The Talk” host Sheryl Underwood attends Steve Harvey’s Hoodie Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition to co-hosting the revamped CBS talk show, Underwood is also a regular contributor to Harvey’s nationally syndicated morning radio show, “The Steve Harvey Show.”
“America’s Next Top Model” star Bianca Golden attended Gilt City’s Lollapalooza party in Chicago. Gilt City, the leading online luxury experience site, celebrated the 2012 Lollapalooza Music Festival, with the Better Than Backstage Rooftop Pool Party, held at the EnV Apartment Complex.
