Is “SWV Reunited” readying a return on WE TV?
Despite the R&B trio SWV revealing their WE TV reality series had been canceled while doing the promotional rounds for their latest album, “Still,” sources close to the cable network tell AlwaysAList.com that the fate of the show may not be sealed.
Back in November of 2015, the group’s lead singer Cheryl “Coko” Clemons posted via Instagram: “After months of waiting in limbo with minimal communication with the network it is with regret that we officially announce the cancellation of SWV: Reunited on WE TV. We want to thank each and every one of you who supported our show and continue to support the SWV brand. Your love and support has carried our dream of creating quality music for over 23 years. This is not the end by any means!”
While the vocalist may have believed the show had ended because “SWV Reunited” was not on the immediate production schedule for WE TV and communication with the group, the show’s production company and the network was “minimal,” an official cancellation was never announced by WE TV.
“The show was never put on the board of canceled series in the WE TV offices,” a source close to the production told AlwaysAList.com. “Despite the fact that the second season didn’t perform as strong as the first season, the show overall had very strong ratings.”

Apparently, WE TV has noticed that SWV has had a spike in visibility over the last several months.
Their fifth album “Still” was led by the first single, “Ain’t No Man.”
A second single, “MCE (Man Crush Everyday)” is one of the most-added songs at Urban Adult Contemporary Radio, where it’s up 70-more spins at no. 23 on the chart.
Fresh off of appearing on ABC’s “The View” as a surprise for co-host Raven-Symoné, the group is slated to perform at some high-profile festivals going into the summer, including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival in South Africa and the Capital Jazz Festival in Washington, DC.
Back in December, Coko and group members Leanne “LeLee” Lyons and Tamara “Taj” George were summoned to the dressing room of R&B icon Patti LaBelle after a concert in Philadelphia, where the music legend raved about their stage show and performance of LaBelle’s “If Only You Knew.” SWV was nominated for their second Grammy for their 2012 remake of “If Only You Knew” on their “I Missed Us” album.
SWV recently signed with new management, Brooke Payne of 617 Management (New Edition, Bell Biv DeVoe).
AlwaysAList.com reached out to WE TV on the status of “SWV Reunited” and at press time, the network had not returned our request for comment.
