Angela Robinson: “The Have & Have Nots” Star Assaulted By Fan
The prime-time soap opera, set in Savannah, Georgia, depicts the lives of the rich and powerful Cryer and Harrington families (they’re “The Haves”) and the poor and barely-surviving Young family (of course “The Have Nots”).
Robinson stars as Veronica Harrington; a homophobic, manipulative and cunning attorney married to Judge David Harrington (Peter Parros).
“There are very few characters like Veronica: truth tellers, smart, educated, a little bit cray-cray and also she has an ability as a woman of a certain age to still be sensual,” Robinson told ABC Radio Networks contributing producer Karu F. Daniels about her diabolical diva role. “All of that usually doesn’t come in one package in television or in film today.”
Veronica’s evil ways really upset one fan in particular, so much so she actually hit the actress when they met her in person.
“This one lady actually hit me,” she revealed. “[They] usually come and yell at me but this one lady came and slapped me.”

The actress, who appeared on an episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” said she didn’t have to involve the authorities.
“It was in the back,” she clarified about being hit. “When I said slapped me, somebody thought it was in the face. I would’ve been calling the police.”
The Jacksonville, Florida-bred stage actress, who has performed in a handful of Broadway shows including “The Color Purple” as Shug Avery, said she plans to return to the Great White Way in the near future.
“So I’m just so grateful to be playing this complicated, complex character,” she said. “I’m having the time of my life.”
The season finale of “The Haves And The Have Nots” airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
