Bobby Brown: Singer Enters Rehab
New Edition singer Bobby Brown has entered rehab for alcohol addiction.
The 43-year-old singer admitted himself into a treatment facility recently because reportedly, “he realized he couldn’t do it on his own.”
A source close to Brown told AlwaysAList.com that Brown has been clean from any form of drug abuse since at least 2008.
“He kicked the drug habit on his own, but he still struggled with drinking,” a source shared. “He had conditioned himself not to drink before concerts so that it didn’t affect his work, but he really wants to leave drinking alone altogether.”
The “My Prerogative” singer was arrested for DUI this past March, which was just one month after his ex-wife, music great Whitney Houston died.
He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to probation and ordered to complete a 90-day alcohol education program.
Brown got married to girlfriend Alicia Etheridge during a ceremony in Honolulu, Hawaii in June. The couple has a son together named Cassius who was born in 2009.
The Boston, Mass.-bred entertainer also has four other children from his three previous relationships – Landon Brown, 26, LaPrincia Brown, 22, Robert (Bobby) Brown Jr, 21, and Bobbi Kristina, 19.
