Bishop Neil Ellis: Wraps Third Fellowship & Reveals 2017 Location

“We are a Fellowship Mandated to Unite, Equip, Enhance, Resurrect and Build.” That’s the theme of Global United Fellowship (GUF) founded in 2013 by Presiding Prelate Bishop Neil C. Ellis, who is also Senior Pastor of Mount Tabor Church in Nassau, Bahamas.

GUF held its annual convention, The Gathering, this month in Baltimore, Maryland. Prominent pastors, ministry leaders, Gospel music artists and churchgoers from congregations from all over the world convened at the Baltimore Convention Center on the city’s Inner Harbor for four days of spiritual restoration, impartation and fellowship.

Bishop Ellis has always been clear that Global United Fellowship (GUF) is not a church denomination. Instead, his body of Christian believers are an assembly of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences in the Christian community that collectively aim to be impactful in ministry; the community; family and world affairs.

Global United FellowshipCommunity and family are among the focal points of the fellowship’s base initiatives, as well as their Children’s Feeding Initiative; Clean Water Project; and The Reentry and Restorative Justice Commission.

GUF Spokesperson for Families, Judge Glenda Hatchett, is representing the family of Philando Castile, the black Minnesota man shot and by police during a traffic stop in the Twin Cities in front of his girlfriend and juvenile daughter.

GUF also advances ministry by elevating pastors to the title of bishop during the Episcopal Consecration service held each year during The Gathering. This year the organization celebrated the promotion of Pastor Deanza A. Cunningham (Christ Community Church/Nassau, Bahamas); Pastor Jeffrey L. Reaves (Good Shepherd Baptist Church/Petersburg, VA); Pastor Rethann (Aretha) Wilson (RAW International Gathering/New York, NY); and Pastor Helen McPhee (Agape Full Gospel Baptist Church/Nassau Bahamas) to bishop. The newly consecrated Bishop McPhee is the first female from The Bahamas elevated to the Bishopric.

Bishop Ellis remains clear that the people who have partnered with him in his GUF fellowship must be genuine in their desires to help repair the challenges facing the church community and Christians as a whole are grappling with daily.

“We have come together not just to get together, but Global United’s assignment is to unite and equip churches to serve the needs of our people, he previously told AlwaysAList.com.

Currently, GUF’s membership body represents 27 countries including The Bahamas, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guinea, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Liberia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Myanmar Burma, Pakistan, Philippines, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Turks & Caicos Islands, Uganda, United States, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The Gathering 2
