Todrick Hall: YouTube Superstar Takes Turn In “Kinky Boots”
Internet sensation and theater star Todrick Hall is headed back to the Great White Way.
The 31-year-old entertainer, who became a breakout star in the entertainment industry with his flash mob pop-ups and viral music videos, will take over as Lola in the Tony Award®-winning musical “Kinky Boots” starting November 1, 2016.
Hall will follow Alan Mingo, Jr. in the Broadway production. The role of Lola in “Kinky Boots” was originated by Billy Porter, who won a Tony Award for the part. Emmy-winning TV host Wayne Brady has also played Lola in acclaimed show.

“We’re so thrilled to have Todrick join the company and get to show off his incredible talent to Broadway audiences,” producers of “Kinky Boots” Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig said in a joint statement.
The Texas-bred former “American Idol” contestant made the announcement about joining “Kinky Boots” on his popular YouTube channel, which has 2.2 million subscribers and over 400 million views.
Hall is no stranger to Broadway, having previously appeared in the musicals “The Color Purple” and “Memphis.”
The 31-year-old entertainer just wrapped his own sold-out national tour show “Straight Outta Oz.”
“Kinky Boots” features a Tony® Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper and script by Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein.
