The show is produced and carried nationally by TEGNA Media (formerly known as Gannett Broadcasting) and will air in second showing on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network.
The one-hour series had a test run last summer from Aug. 17 to Sept. 11 on TEGNA stations in Dallas, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Cleveland. The test run episode of “The T.D. Jakes Show” that featured an exclusive interview with R&B superstar Angie Stone and her daughter, Diamond Stone, following their physical altercation and Stone’s arrest went viral.
Jakes is no stranger to hosting TV shows. He has regularly hosted specials on TBN and alongside Winfrey on the OWN Network. The 58-year-old televangelist also hosted a weekend talk show for BET called “Mind, Body & Soul” in 2013 that ended mutually due to separate visions with Jakes and the network.
AlwaysAList.com’s Jawn Murray set down with the renowned pastor of The Potter’s House church in Dallas, Texas, to discuss him finally launching the show of his dreams and why this talk show means the most to him; preachers using social media; and why church attendance is down.
