Sophistication, safety and smooth are the first words that come to mind when I think of the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe.
This updated model gets some fresh tweaks, among them new wheels, new headlights, a new grille, and new front and rear bumpers.
Another new feature, its third-row offering, made the Santa Fe the ideal chariot for me during Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Week in Washington, DC, as I played personal Uber for friends and colleagues in town for all the events surrounding CBCF.
One night in particular, I drove two television executives, a marketing executive and a celebrity friend to multiple parties and they were very comfortable getting in, riding around and getting out the large-size crossover vehicle.
Another night, I ended up taking six male industry associates to an event we were both headed too, as they were actually waiting for a real Uber while valet was bringing up the Santa Fe. They, too, were able to get into the vehicle while wearing suits and could function and maneuver.
I really liked the brisk acceleration of the Hyundai Santa Fe. This crossover vehicle packed punch, while remaining sturdy and solid in its drive. You’re only getting 18 city and 25 highway miles per gallon, but at this size that’s really expected.
Being geared towards families and those who travel with lots of people, the Santa Fe has great security offerings. Features include the multi-view parking camera, lane-departure warning, an electronic parking brake, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, and adaptive headlights.
Inside there’s also great things like the 7.0-inch touchscreen display, the optional 12-speaker audio system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Blue Link connectivity.
For a large size crossover that’s offering you the bells and whistles, Hyundai’s Santa Fe is certainly an impressive option.
Spin Control: This full-sized crossover vehicle has a sleek, attractive body and a smooth drive, is extremely spacious and offers great amenities at its average price range of $40,000!
