What better way to start the early holiday shopping than dashing around town in the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid.
See, in this vehicle, I drove all over town, from mall to mall, shopping center to shopping center, both city and highway miles, and it took forever to put a dent in the 560 miles this Accord Hybrid offered on a full tank. Literally, I could have driven to New York City and back from Washington, DC and never gas up. (Good gas mileage doesn’t stop you from paying those tolls though!)
I didn’t take the drive to the Big Apple, but I did drive out to Fair Oaks, Virginia and make two trips to Baltimore, in addition to my pre-holiday errands, and after six days of driving, I still had 90 miles left in the gas tank. It having great fuel economy (it’s billed at 48 miles per gallon) truly gives you a real bang for your buck!
This roomy sedan has a great drive with excellent acceleration and reassured handling on turns. The thoughtful interior is also well-appointed and comfortable.
The Accord Hybrid comes in three trim levels: base, EX-L and Touring. I drove the touring, which featured LED headlights (with automatic high-beam control), front and rear parking sensors, heated rear seats, a sunroof, and a navigation system. But one of my all-time favorite options in the Honda is the right-turn camera that comes in addition to the rearview camera. Excellent safety option!
While its there as an added safety measure, the collision warning system can be aggressive and ultimately annoying. There’s safety, and then there’s paranoid. The Accord is more of the latter.
While the cargo room is ample, I was surprised there was no fold-down rear seat or rear-seat pass-through way to enter the trunk. That means you could never extend the trunk space for any oversized items you may need to carry.
The 2017 Honda Accord is a stylish, sporty sedan offering subtle sophistication. This attractive vehicle strikes a real balance between having its sporty elements with some practical luxury elements was intentional and effectively done.
Overall, the evolution of the Accord and the advancements Honda has made with this vehicle are pretty remarkable.
Spin Control: With price range from $30,000 to $36,000, the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid is worth its sticker price for the fuel economy alone. What you spend on the car you’ll certainly save on gas.
