The theme for the My Black Is Beautiful Dinner was “Black Girls Go” and the campaign used the hashtag #BlackGirlsGo to chronicle all of its Essence Festival activity during the weekend.

In between the decadent meal and custom cocktails, Nichols offered her brand of self-help inspiration and had attendees stand and do an exercise where they acknowledged the existence of someone they had never met before at the dinner. For motivational moment was really impactful to some of those in attendance.

Inspiring women and the brothers that love them is right in line with the My Black is Beautiful mission of community-building.
