Essence Music Festival: Bevy Smith’s My Black Is Beautiful Dinner

Social Media Socialite and marketing maven Bevy Smith hosted one of her swank Dinners with Bevy at Rambla at the International House Hotel for Procter & Gamble’s My Black Is Beautiful. While media guests and tastemakers were invited to join Smith and P&G executives while they introduced their new initiative, Imagine a Future.

Imagine a Future is a partnership between P&G, DJ Beverly Bond’s Black Girls Rock! and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) designed to positively impact the lives of one million black girls over the next three years. During Essence Festival, P&G’s gave out six book awards totaling $3,000 to black female students through the UNCF Empower Me Tour book award sweepstakes. Additionally, one New Orleans-based black female student received a $5,000 academic scholarship.

A presentation was also made to New Orleans First Lady, Cheryl Landrieu for her organization Girl-Up NOLA.
