Rumor Control: BET’s “106 & Park” Not Cancelled
Entertainment site GlobalGrind.com erroneously reported on Wednesday that BET’s long-running music video and performance show, “106 & Park” was being cancelled following the departure of current hosts Terrence J and Rosci Diaz this month.
The story alleged that the Black Entertainment Television series would tape its last show on Sept. 21 and it would broadcast on Sept. 28.
The GlobalGrind.com report was centered around an ambiguous Twitter message from the “106 & Park” account that read: “We sadly announce that on September 28th, 2012, we will air our last episode.”
They then furthered their claim by saying their story was confirmed by an “inside source” at the network.
Well AlwaysAList.com can definitely tell you that the story is absolutely false.
Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming & Specials, was asked by a fan on Twitter where the show was being “cancelled,” and he replied: “No it’s not! Not even close!”
Not only will “106 & Park” continue on after their current hosts Terrence and Rosci leave the show on Sept. 28, but on Oct. 1, as previously announced, BET will reveal the two new hosts of the series.
“106 & Park” has aired on BET for 12 years.
