Lark Voorhies: “Saved By The Bell” Star Battling Bi-Polar Disorder
Actress Lark Voorhies is battling with bi-polar disorder her mother has disclosed to People magazine.
The “Saved By The Bell” star recently did an interview with People and the celebrity weekly found her behavior extremely odd.
In an article describing her actions, People said the 38-year-old would “frequently stop mid-sentence and stare off, often mumbling to herself or to others who weren’t there” while they spoke with her.
Though Voorhies denies her illness, her mother Tricia, 64, who shares a home with her daughter in Pasadena, Calif., confirmed her condition to the magazine.
“There are things that have traumatized her,” her mom explained. “I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life.”
Voorhies, best known for her character Lisa Turtle, told People her “over-loving” mother just worries about her, but there’s no need.
When the magazine asked her to explain her behavior during their interview, she answered: “I have a strong spiritual sense. You caught me in moments of pray [sic].”
The actress also told People that she makes a living starring doing low-budget independent films, recording music and self-publishing her own books.
