Shutting Its Doors: ABC’s “Private Practice” Ending
“Grey’s Anatomy” spin-off — and one of my favorite shows — “Private Practice” will end for good when the series concludes its 13-episode run at the end of this season.
The show’s creator, celebrated writer/producer Shonda Rhimes revealed the news on her Twitter page.
“I’m sad to say that Private Practice’s run will end after episode 613 this season,” she wrote, before posting a photo of the cast celebrating its 100th episode earlier this year.
ABC decided not to order the back nine episodes of “Private Practice.”
The drama’s star Kate Walsh had already announced earlier this year that she would depart the series after this season’s initial 13 episodes aired.
“Private Practice” also stars Taye Diggs, KaDee Strickland, Amy Brenneman, Paul Adelstein, Brian Benben and Benjamin Bratt.
Actors Audra McDonald and Tim Daly both left the series after season four and season five respectively.
The final episodes of “Private Practice” at 10 p.m. on ABC.
