Comeback Confirmed: TLC Readying New CD, Tour & Movie

The surviving members of pop group TLC confirmed plans for a new album while in Liverpool, England being recognized at the Mobo Awards.

It’s been a decade since the death of bandmate Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and now Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins are planning to release a new CD as a duo and a forthcoming tour.

Additionally, the ladies are also in the producing a made-for-TV biopic about their lives.

“We’re going to still sound like TLC, evolving to whatever level we need to be at this time,” shared T-Boz to the BBC.

TLC, known for hits like “Waterfalls,” “Creep” and “No Scrubs,” was one of the best-selling groups in the world after hitting the scene in the 1990s.The trio’s rapper, Left Eye died in a car crash in Honduras in 2002 and the remaining pair completed the group’s fourth album, “3D,” which was released in 2002.

T-Boz told reporters that the group wasn’t worried about competing with in the current landscape of the music business and that their focus on just appeasing to their core fans.

“We’ve always grown throughout the years and have always had our own sound. That’s what works for us and we don’t have to worry about anybody else,” she expressed. “When that stops working, maybe we’ll hang up the towel, but that still works. We have to get into the studio and start feeling how we feel. You have to find yourself first and then you find the path and then you have an album before you know it.”
