Changing Faces: Tia Mowry Gets A New Man
Looks like there’s been a switch-a-roo on the Nick at Nite family comedy pilot “Instant Mom.”
Now Deadline.com reports that former “Spin City” star Michael Boatman has replaced Martin in the cast. Boatman will now play Charlie, a successful doctor married to a 25-year-old reformed party girl.
Boatman, who also appeared on Sherri Shepherd’s self-titled Lifetime sitcom in 2009, is currently a recurring character on his former “Spin City” co-star Charlie Sheen’s FX comedy, “Anger Management.”
Apparently the cast of “Instant Mom” had a table read on Friday and producers decided to recast the role of Charlie. Producers did not reveal details as to why Martin was let go from playing the character.
“Instant Mom” also stars former “Moesha” star Sheryl Lee Ralph as Maggie, the mother of Mowry’s character.
Rounding out the cast of “Instant Mom” are young actors Sydney Park, Tylen Williams and Damarr Calhoun, who play Charlie’s three children in the sitcom.
