Changing Faces: Tia Mowry Gets A New Man

Looks like there’s been a switch-a-roo on the Nick at Nite family comedy pilot “Instant Mom.”

AlwaysAList.com previously reported on Nov. 28. 2012 that former “All of Us” star Duane Martin had been cast to play Tia Mowry’s husband on the pilot.

Now Deadline.com reports that former “Spin City” star Michael Boatman has replaced Martin in the cast. Boatman will now play Charlie, a successful doctor married to a 25-year-old reformed party girl.

Boatman, who also appeared on Sherri Shepherd’s self-titled Lifetime sitcom in 2009, is currently a recurring character on his former “Spin City” co-star Charlie Sheen’s FX comedy, “Anger Management.”

Apparently the cast of “Instant Mom” had a table read on Friday and producers decided to recast the role of Charlie. Producers did not reveal details as to why Martin was let go from playing the character.

“Instant Mom” also stars former “Moesha” star Sheryl Lee Ralph as Maggie, the mother of Mowry’s character.

Rounding out the cast of “Instant Mom” are young actors Sydney Park, Tylen Williams and Damarr Calhoun, who play Charlie’s three children in the sitcom.

Maybe I’m late, lost or both…but I thought the GAME was coming back according to BET promos. Is Tia Mowery not on the GAME anymore?

Miss Understood…where have you been. She’s not coming back to The Game. Interesting FYI…Michael Boatman played Malik’s father on the Game, but I don’t think he and Tia had any scenes together. He’s a good actor…looking forward to seeing the show!

I’m glad for the switch. I really didn’t like the Duane Martin/Tia Mowry Hardrict match up.

Miss Understood: No, Tia will not be returning to The Game this season. It was announced this Summer and addressed on her reality show. Her character was dropped to a recurring role and she decided not to renew her contract.
