More Chat: “The Talk” Renewed For Third Season

Good news for Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert and Sheryl Underwood! Their daytime talk show “The Talk” has been renewed for a third season.

The CBS show has been averaging 2.35 million viewers, which is actually up 11% from last year.

Broadcast live from Los Angeles, “The Talk” also delivered its largest audience ever during the week of Jan. 13 and even matched “The View” in women 25-54 and women 18-49 for the first time this season.

In 2012, “The Talk” was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show.

Comediennes Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler joined “The Talk” in 2011, replacing original hosts, actresses Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini. The first season of the chat show centered more around issues relevant to motherhood and parenting.

In addition to the renewal of “The Talk,” CBS has also renewed soaps “The Young and The Restless” and “The Bold And The Beautiful;” as well as game shows “The Price Is Right” and “Let’s Make A Deal.”

“Over the past few years, we have successfully transitioned our daytime schedule to a balance of program genres with new creative energy, while maintaining our ratings leadership,” said CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler.
