Bygones: 90’s Group Guy Makes Up
Concertgoers at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theater got a special treat this weekend when the members of Guy reunited during the New Jack Swing Valentine’s Jam.
Guy, made up of Aaron Hall, Damion Hall and Teddy Riley, last appeared together during a performance with Ne-Yo on the BET Awards in 2009.
Creative differences between the Hall brothers and Riley kept the group from performing together in recent years.
Aaron and Damion had been doing Guy dates as a duo on New Jack Swing Tour along with SWV, Dru Hill, Al B. Sure and Tony Toni Tone.
Riley has been performing concert dates mainly with his other group Blackstreet.
No word on what caused Guy to put the past behind them and move on, but Riley’s surprise appearance alongside his group members has fans hoping for a permanent reconciliation for the New York-bred trio.
Guy is best known for hits like ‘I Like,’ ‘Groove Me,’ ‘Let’s Chill’ and ‘Piece of My Love.’
