End Is Near: “90210” Bids Farewell
After five seasons on the CW, “90210” is coming to a close.
The series will air its final episode on Monday, May 13.
“The CW has had five great seasons with America’s favorite zip code, 90210,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz. “I’d like to thank the talented cast, producers and crew for all their hard work and dedication to the series. We are very proud of the West Beverly High alumni.”
“90210” debuted on The CW in Sept. 2008 and was a modern interpretation of the iconic drama, “Beverly Hills, 90210” that lasted 10 seasons.
The new one-hour drama revolved around students at West Beverly High School and starred Shenae Grimes, Tristan Wilds, AnnaLynne McCord, Jessica Stroup, Michael Steger, Jessica Lowndes and Matt Lanter. Some characters from the original version of the show had recurring and guest-starring roles on the reboot.
The series finale of the show will feature the acting debut by Prince Michael Jackson, son of the late Michael Jackson.”90210″ star Wilds, who has appeared in films like “Secret Life of Bees” and “Red Tails” while on the show; will expand his career into music while also continuing to act.
I first reported back in Feb. 2011 that the 23-year-old, Staten Island, New York-bred talent was branching out into music. Since then, he’s released a mix-tape and apparently is close to finalizing a major record deal.
