Real Love: LisaRaye McCoy & Bishop Noel Jones Dating
There have been rumors of a romance between actress LisaRaye McCoy and renowned preacher, Bishop Noel Jones since 2011. Back in November of 2011, an arbitrary blog even ran an erroneous report that the two were getting married, which they quickly denied.
But now, AlwaysAList.com can confirm that the former First Lady of Turks & Caicos and the pastor of the City of Refuge Church in Los Angeles are in a serious relationship – so serious that it is a featured storyline on the upcoming reality series, “Pastors of LA” just greenlit by Oxygen.
A friend of AlwaysAList.com recently attended a private screening of the pilot and was “taken aback” by the couple’s relationship.
“I was really surprised that they were so open about their relationship. I heard the rumors that they had been dating, but all doubt was removed watching this show,” explained our source.
On the pilot, there was one scene where Bishop Jones was criticizing some of McCoy’s wardrobe selections for church.
“He basically told her that he wasn’t sure she was ‘Godly enough’ for his world, and she in turn told him he may not be ‘worldly enough’ for hers,” recalled the screening guest.
The courtship of the 46-year-old star of VH1’s “Single Ladies” and the 63-year-old megachurch pastor—who happens to be music star Grace Jones’ twin brother—isn’t the only aspect of “Pastors of LA.” The show will also chronicle the lives of Los Angeles-based pastors Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Wayne Chaney, Bishop Ron Gibson, Pastor Jay Haizlip, and gospel singer Deitrick Haddon, who was the pastor of a Detroit church until he split from his wife and moved to L.A.
A description of the show produced by L. Plummer Media in association with Relevé Entertainment provided by Oxygen read: “‘Pastors of L.A.’ will give viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different and world renowned mega-pastors in Southern California, who are willing to share diverse aspects of their lives, from their work in the community and with their parishioners to the very large and sometimes provocative lives they lead away from the pulpit.”
Those who have viewed the pilot for “Pastors of LA” have offered AlwaysAList.com mixed feedback on the series. AlwaysAList.com has not seen the pilot directly, but viewers will be able to judge for themselves when “Pastors of LA” premieres on Oxygen this fall.
