A-List Rides: 2013 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid
Forget the sleigh, reindeer and all the other means of getting around during Christmas time. I spent my holiday week delivering gifts, being social and maneuvering in the 2013 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid.
Talk about the perfect gift! The GS 450 truly is an immaculately-made vehicle, manufactured with an attention to detail and more bells and whistles than one person can even began to explore during a seven day test drive.
Even though it was a hybrid – we know some model hybrids can sometimes offer that awkward feel while driving – the GS 450 was as smooth as any non-hybrid vehicle. It being a hybrid made it amazing on gas – it reliably averages 30 mpg.
I put this Lexus on the highway – as we moved about socializing with relatives in the Virginia countryside and the Maryland suburbs – and enjoyed it just as much in the city. Its adaptive suspension gives it unexpectedly good cornering.
The body of the vehicle is sleek and sophisticated, and the interior is impeccably designed and built for comfort and convenience. Some of the offerings (you can see more in the video below) are definitely a gadget lovers dream.
The overall vehicle is spacious – plenty of trunk space for luggage, groceries and of course, gifts during the holiday season. Also, the backseat passengers were clearly comfortable and more than enough leg room – even with the driver, me, being six-foot tall.
Spin Control: With its starting price at $59,450, the 2013 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid is an investment vehicle that’s worth every dime. The fusion of luxury and convenience, sophistication and style makes it truly a car lovers dream!
