R&B icon Gladys Knight is preparing for her reality TV debut.
The 69-year-old vocalist was shooting scenes for her as-yet-untitled series while in New Orleans receiving her 365Black Award. Knight arrived at the New Orleans Theater in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center with multiple cameras on her. A member of her production team shared with AlwaysAList.com the news about her show.
A veteran performer whose professional career began in 1952, Knight has seen a career boost after appearing on season 14 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” early last year. In addition to regularly performing concert dates, she is one of the judges on the revamped “Apollo Live” that airs on BET’s Centric channel.
Additional details on the seven-time Grammy winner’s reality show aren’t available.
A rep for OWN had not responded to a request for comment at press time.
