Frank Ski: Launching Syndicated Afternoon Show From DC
Looks like the afternoon radio game has gotten even more competitive. On the heels of Reach Media announcing that comedian D.L. Hughley will be replacing radio talent Skip Murphy in an attempt to recapture the afternoon audience once dominated by Michael Baisden, now comes news that radio veteran Frank Ski will debut a new afternoon show from Washington, DC on Sept. 9.
Ski will host an afternoon radio show on DC’s 96.3 WHUR, bringing him back to the market where his radio career began.
“‘The Frank Ski Afternoon Show’ will broadcast live from the Nation’s Capitol, Washington, DC, out of the WHUR FM studios,” Ski revealed in a statement. “What makes this so special and so personal is that my radio career began in DC and I’m excited to win the heart of DC like we did the ATL.”
The 49-year-old radio talent will split his time between DC and Atlanta, where his show will broadcast as well.
“Soon I will announce our Atlanta partner,” he disclosed. Until a deal is done with a station in Atlanta, fans can listen to Ski’s new show on the TuneIn Radio App or online at www.WHUR.com.
“We are thrilled to welcome Frank to the WHUR family and we look forward to him bringing his love for radio and the community to the Washington region,” said Jim Watkins, Howard University Radio Network General Manager.
