Kandi Burruss: Big Apple Bound In Off-Broadway Show
Fresh on the heals of producing her own production in Atlanta called “A Mother’s Love” in November to rave reviews, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss is readying a run in the off-Broadway show, “Newsical the Musical.”
Burruss will head to the Great White Way beginning on January 13, 2014, where she’ll kick off a two week stint in the popular New York production. Her run will end on Sunday, January 26.
“Newsical The Musical” is the forever changing, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that’s fit to spoof. The show plays at Theatre Row on 42nd Street.
“I am thrilled to join the cast of ‘Newsical The Musical,'” said Burruss. “Having just come off of my own musical production, ‘Newsical The Musical’ furthers my journey in entertainment to, simultaneously, do more of what I love: act and sing.”
The 37-year-old talent follows a several other high-profile guest stars in the show, including Jackée Harry, Carson Kressley, and La Toya Jackson.
“Being a part of an illustrious list of stars that have previously joined the show is an honor,” she added.
In 2011, “Newsical the Musical” was named Best New Musical by the Off Broadway Alliance for its “infectious melodies, razor-sharp lyrics, biting satire and having more unpredictability than a Courtney Love tweet.”
