Tristan Wilds: Returning to “90210” After Illness
Tristan Wilds is returning for season five of the CW drama “90210.”
The 23-year-old actor, who plays Dixon on the series, had to leave the show and missed several episodes at the end of last season after getting sick with Valley Fever. Wilds spent nearly a month in the hospital and tweeted fans then to explain the illness.
He wrote: “(It is) something like pneumonia… it’s called Valley Fever… I been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks… It’s gonna be a while (before I get better)… I can’t wait till I come back to set… Just nursing myself back to full strength. Valley Fever is a b**ch… Just tryna (trying to) beat this Valley Fever s**t, but, I’m good.”
Wilds, who has also starred in the films “Red Tails” and “The Secret Life of Bees,” appeared at the CW, CBS & Showtime 2012 Summer Television Critics Association party in Beverly Hills, Calif. recently to promote the upcoming fifth season of “90210.”
Season five of “90210” will premiere on Monday, October 8 at 8pm ET.
In addition to his work on “90210,” The Staten Island, New York-bred talent has been in the studio working on an upcoming CD. In November of 2011, Wilds released a free mix-tape online called “Remember, Remember.”
