Family Matters: Flex Alexander & Shanice Get OWN Series

Actor Flex Alexander and his wife, R&B/Pop singer Shanice are starring in a reality series for Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network.

Their show, “Flex & Shanice” will premiere as a primetime special on Saturday, May 31 at 10pm. The one-hour sneak peak will give viewers a look into the forthcoming series on the Hollywood couple.

“I’m so excited about being apart of the OWN family,” Shanice told AlwaysAList.com. “Hopefully our story will inspire others that have gone through some of the same things we’ve gone through. You get to laugh and cry. It’s like bring on an emotional roller coaster and the entire family can watch!”

Married since 2000, the couple has seen both highs and lows during their careers in entertainment.

While facing some hard times and financial struggles, the couple moves their mother-in-law and other family members into their rental home along with them and their two children, 12-year-old Imani and 10-year-old Elijah.

Things are looking better for the couple now, as the actor/comedian has booked some recent gigs. “Raising Whitley” star Kym Whitley appears to offer some professional advice to the former “One On One” and “Homeboys In Outer Space” star.

Shanice, best known for hits like ‘I Love Your Smile,’ ‘Silent Prayer,’ and ‘Yesterday,’ discovers from a former music executive that her mom may have been the reason her music career stalled. That revelation causes the singer to really evaluate their relationship.

Producer extraordinaire Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds gives the Grammy-nominated powerhouse some tough advice that requires she take a look at her career as a whole.
