Viva Las Vegas: Stellar Gospel Awards Finds A New Home

The Stellar Gospel Music Awards is planning to move again.

AlwaysAList.com has learned exclusively that the annual awards show that salutes the best in Black gospel music is headed to Las Vegas for its 30th anniversary.

The Stellar Awards will be held in Vegas on March 28, 2015. The venue has not yet been finalized.

Despite its nickname of Sin City, Las Vegas is not foreign to gospel music. For many years, Dr. Bobby Jones hosted his International Gospel Industry Retreat in the city and taped various television specials for both BET and Word Network from there.

In July 2013, the company that produces the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, Central City Productions, Inc. confirmed to AlwaysAList.com it was changing the date of their 2014 show from its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend date and moving to another city. Those plans did not pan out.

The 2014 Stellar Awards took place in Nashville on January 18 at the Municipal Auditorium.  The show was hosted by comics Sherri Shepherd (“The View”) and Rickey Smiley (“The Rickey Smiley Show”).

AlwaysAList.com reached out to Central City Productions, Inc. and a rep for the company said they could not confirm anything at this time.
