Free At Last: Chris Brown Out Of Jail
R&B star Chris Brown is finally a free man.
The 25-year-old entertainer was released from Los Angeles County Jail at 12:01a.m. on Monday confirmed the L.A. County Sheriff’s office.
Brown had been in custody since mid-March for violating his probation stemming from his 2009 assault on Rihanna. The Tappahannock, Virginia was flown on the federal government’s inmate transport system called Con Air back to Washington, DC to deal with assault charges for allegedly beating a fan who tried to take a photo of him last October.
On May 9, L.A. Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin sentenced Brown to a year in jail; he received credit for 234 days of time already served in jail and court-ordered rehab, which left him with 131 days to serve.

Brown’s release on Monday was an early release based on a number of factors that were not disclosed. He addressed his fans on Twitter afterwards.
The singer’s probation is extended until Jan. 23, 2015, and Brown will be required to submit to random drug testing at least three times a week. The entertainer must also complete whatever remains of the 1,000 additional hours of community service he was given last August when his probation was revoked following a car accident.
Additionally, Brown must participate in psychiatric counseling two times a week and attend outpatient therapy at least twice a week. Earlier this year doctors declared that Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD.
He’s due back in court Aug. 13 for a progress report.
