Andraé Crouch: Gospel Great Facing Serious Health Challenges

Grammy-winning gospel legend Andraé Crouch is facing some “serious health challenges.”

The 71-year-old’s twin sister Sandra Crouch has reached out to family, friends and fans of the iconic singer/songwriter soliciting prayers for her brother.

Andraé, who is the Senior Pastor at Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ in Pacoima, Calif., was hospitalized recently and was just released last week.

Sandra & Andraé Crouch

The correspondence from Sandra read: “Our dear Father in the gospel, Pastor Andraé Crouch, is facing some serious health challenges and was just released from the hospital last week. His music has encouraged us, helped many make a decision to give their lives to the Lord, opened doors that allowed countless artists to have careers in the gospel music industry and brought a spirit of praise and worship into millions of churches across the world regardless of denomination or race.  He was there for us and now we need to be there for him with our prayers.”[divider]READ: B. Sandra is requesting people submit “words of encouragement” and “testimonials” that they plan to share with Andraé in an effort to “speak life to his spirit.”

“Although we will never be able to tell him all he has meant to the body of Christ we can try,” she explained.

In addition to penning songs for both “The Color Purple” and “The Lion King,” Andraé has also recorded music with Madonna, Paul Simon, Quincy Jones, Diana Ross, Barbara Mandrell and Elton John, among others.

Most notably, Andraé sang background with his singers on several Michael Jackson hits including ‘Man in the Mirror,’ ‘Will You Be There’ and ‘Earth Song.’

In my first post I made a couple typo’s, I am so sorry for that. I listened to Pastor Crouch’s music for as long as I can remember was what I meant to say. I also wanted to add that I lost my Mom one month ago, Let the Pastor know we Love him and we are Praying.

WHATEVER your appointed tasks may be this day, go forth rejoicing, knowing that the grace of God is upon you! Before you set your hand to any task, before you take any action, use a few moments to remind yourself of this truth and affirm quietly, in faith, “I go forward joyously, for the grace of God is upon me.” You will find your accomplishment of your tasks easier than you had thought possible, your efforts abundantly fruitful and rewarding.

Because we are all sons of God, we are free. If something extremely difficult seems to be required of you, if you are faced with a trying situation, condition, or circumstance, set aside all doubts and fears right now, and for a few moments simply acknowledge your own divine son ship. Declare in faith: “God loves me. His grace is upon me, and only good can come.”
Let the words “His grace is upon me” move through your thoughts; speak them aloud, then relax and accept them throughout your whole being. God’s grace is upon you, upon your mind and its activity, upon your body and its functions, upon your life and affairs. God’s grace is upon you now, blessing you, encouraging you.

Repeat to yourself over and over, both silently and aloud, “God never fails.” Take this thought into your heart this very moment, and repeat it again and again: “God never fails. God never fails. God never fails.”
