Dynamic Divas: Cynthia Bailey, Gloria Gaynor, Demetria Lucas, Lola Ogunnaike & More Saluted By Café Mocha
Nationally syndicated radio show Café Mocha will recognize dynamic Black and Latino women making contributions within the communities and breaking down barriers with their businesses at their upcoming Salute Her: Superwomen Making a Difference Awards.
The June 21 brunch will celebrate women in the New York tri-state area and take place at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center from 10am – 3pm.
Honorees include veteran entertainer Gloria Gaynor, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and model Cynthia Bailey, Arise TV host Lola Ogunnaike, “Blood, Sweat & Heals” star and relationship expert Demetria Lucas, publicist relations expert Simone Smalls (Simone Smalls Public Relations), Sister2Sister magazine publisher Jamie Foster-Brown, author Ilyasah Shabazz, community activist Evelyn Mejil, and HBCU broadcast pioneer D. Cherie Lofton.

Salute Her will be hosted by “Murder in the First” star Nicole Ari Parker & Café Mocha co-host Angelique Perrin. The event will include a performance by R&B crooner and “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard.
In addition to the awards brunch, the Salute Her: Superwomen Making a Difference Awards experience will include the Beauty Inside and Out Gentle Treatment ™ Style Lounge and the Mocha Mavens network exchange sponsored by MadameNoire.
The goal of Salute Her is to recognize a diverse group of women who share a common commitment to make a positive contribution that strengthen the multicultural community.
“Our Salute Her celebrations are extraordinary because we bring cultures together to network and recognize incredible black and brown women who are making a real difference in their communities. Our hope is that our honorees’ stories will inspire our attendees to continue our mission and pay it forward,” said Café Mocha founder and executive producer Sheila Eldridge.

Salute Her has previously recognized women like cultural arts pioneer Vy Higginsen, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, journalist Audrey J. Bernard, civil rights activist Dr. Bernice King, actress/producer Terri J. Vaughn, and CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield, among others.
