Anthony Anderson: Hosting New Food Network Series

Hollywood funnyman Anthony Anderson recently lost 50 pounds to help deal with his Type 2 Diabetes.

But the 43-year-old comic may have to watch his weight again as he’s just signed on to host the Food Network series “Food Fest Nation.”

Premiering on July 21 at 9pm ET, Anderson will tour food festivals around the country, spotlighting regional cuisine.

The Los Angeles-bred talent will visit places like the Magnolia Blossom Festival & World Championship Steak Cook-Off in Magnolia, Ark. where 4,000-plus kinds of rib-eye steaks compete for a $10,000 prize; the Long Grove Strawberry Festival in Long Grove, Ill. where the specialty menu items are strawberry ricotta ravioli and strawberry balsamic chicken; and the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival in Fernandina Beach, Fla.

No stranger to the Food Network, Anderson competed on the cable channel’s series “Chopped” and served as a competitor and then a judge on “Iron Chef America.” He also hosted the AOL Originals web series “Anthony Eats America.”

In addition to his new Food Network series, the star of films like “Barbershop” and “Transformers” will play the lead and also produce a new ABC sitcom called “Black-ish.”

At these festvials he probably tastes the foods but doesnt sit adn eat it. So long as he does that he wont mess up his diet. And he has to be exercising on the road. Good for anthony.
I ‘ll check out his abc show but they need to chang the name. Middle class and upper class afr americans arent ‘blackish;. They worked hard to finish college/grad/school to get to the position/place they have in life.
