It’s like the quiet car on the Amtrak – full of speed and power, but unless you’re listening to your radio or some other audio device, it’s quiet as a mouse! That’s the best way to explain just how noise-free the 2013 Audi A8L Quattro.
Literally, there was pretty much zero engine sound, exhaust noise, transmission lurching or drivetrain chatter when driving it. The design of the A8 is so sound-proof that even the open sun roof on the highway did not generate any real hum.
It’s a large sedan – thus the ‘L’ in the A8 – but it doesn’t carry big at all. It’s sleek to drive, floats practically, and has effortless steering precision. And it moves fast without a V8 engine. Yep, the 2013 Audi A8L Quattro was a V-6 powered model and really gave me all the punch I needed.
Inside the vehicle, as you’ll see in the video, is understated elegance! It’s extremely comfortable – ideal for long drives or extended road trips – and the seats even offer massages. (You don’t even have to insert a dollar bill!) So much attention to detail, from the intricate stitching in the interior to power-actuated window screens blinds. The inside also boasts one of my favorite additions, illumination trim tracks that highlight the interior lines.
This is an attractive sedan overall. It caused people to stop, inquire and even ask for a sneak peek inside the vehicle I was driving. As far as gas mileage is concerned, you get 18 city /21 highway mpg. Pretty average for a non-hybrid car of this size.
Spin Control: It has a base price of $79,395 and my test model was almost $85,045. An expensive sedan, but you get everything but a kitchen sink and a bathroom with it! A worthwhile investment for limitless comfort!
