Isaac Carree: Singer Addresses The Deitrick Haddon Accusations

Isaac & Deitrick 7

FULL DISCLOSURE: I know all of the parties involved in this story personally. I’ve even spent intimate time with Deitrick Haddon and his ex-wife Damita. Typically I would have refrained from reporting on a story where all three of the subjects happen to be friends of mine, however, over the weekend I was contacted by Deitrick and his camp and asked to report this information without attribution to him. I asked for a few days to think about the pitch because as I expressed during the call, I was completely uncomfortable with the fact that Deitrick did not want to do an on-the-record interview, but instead wanted the information “leaked.”  Ultimately, I passed on the opportunity because I thought the intent was bad and after speaking to various people involved and close to the situation, I believed that the allegation lacked merit. Apparently other journalists opted to not “leak” the information as well so Deitrick resulted to posting the information on his Facebook page.

Stellar Award winning singer Isaac Carree has spoken to AlwaysAList.com exclusively about accusations made about him by gospel singer Deitrick Haddon.

Deitrick & Damita Haddon

Deitrick and Damita quietly divorced in 2011 and the public only learned of their split in 2012 during a random series of Twitter posts by Deitrick during a trip to Africa. Now, In an inflammatory Facebook post made on Monday, Deitrick has accused Isaac and Damita of having an affair and claimed that ended his marriage.

“Coming clean in 2013 so God can really be truly glorified,” is how Deitrick started his long, spiritualized message that he claimed that he did not write “to throw anyone under the bus.” Regardless, half way through the message the former pastor attacked both his ex-wife and the ‘In the Middle’ vocalist.

Regarding Damita, Deitrick’s unedited message said: “I don’t expect Damita to be bold enough to go public because people will take her transparency & rub it in her face & even christians who are called to restore & forgive will be ready to throw stones at her for something that God has forgiven her for & is in her past. Unfortunately we happen to live in a religious community that preach forgiveness but when the opportunity presents itself to show it they just don’t do it!!!”

In the same paragraph, the 39-year-old singer lashed out at Isaac as well.

“Furthermore, I do expect Isaac Carree, former member of Men of Standard, to stand up and be man enough to own his mistakes & give his fans the truth they deserve to know. I appreciate your new song ‘Clean this house” you know I’ve always been a fan of yours since day one & I’ve never done anything to hurt you but you left one sin out of your song that would have set the record straight & solidified my healing process & that is Adultery! I hate to see you walk in deception when it’s unnecessary. Yes, I have forgiven you but I want to see you be the true man that God is calling for all of us to be.. The Gospel community & church has had enough deception.. Let’s come clean in 2013.. I have forgiven you, but it’s time to be real,” his unedited post read.

Though Deitrick has since removed the accusatory post from Facebook, the controversy has warranted enough attention that Isaac decided to speak to AlwaysAList.com exclusively about the matter.

“It has been brought to my attention that Deitrick Haddon recently made some very hurtful statements about me. I, as well as my wife, are both shocked and confused by Deitrick’s actions. It saddens me that he would seek to engage in mudslinging with me, especially because he and I have spoken openly and honestly about this, even long before his allegations. While I have no desire to drag these personal conversations into a public forum, he and I both know what the truth is. Still, I pray God’s best for him and his family,” Isaac told us.

Deitrick’s attack on Isaac comes in the midst of the singer promoting his new single ‘Clean This House,’ a song that speaks about God taking away the impurities of sin so that we can be clean. Though he has a robust schedule of promotional appearances and interviews scheduled in support of the single, the 39-year-old singer said he will not address this matter further moving forward.

“This weighs heavily on me, but I am grateful for the opportunity to speak from my heart. This will be the only statement that I will make regarding this situation,” he concluded.

Deitrick has received major backlash from the Christian community for not disclosing he fathered a child out of wedlock by a 24-year-old woman in Los Angeles in early 2012. The baby news was first reported by DaGospelTruth.com and only after Deitrick announced his engagement to the mother of his child on Facebook without acknowledging they had a child together.

The DaGospelTruth.com story forced Deitrick to come clean and according to his team, “he was catching hell from it.”  His fans were outraged.

For whatever reason, Deitrick believes that making these accusations against Damita and Isaac now will deflect attention from the backlash he is receiving for his child, though Damita and Isaac have nothing to do with the fact that he fathered a child out of wedlock.

Damita has not commented on this story.

  2. Deitrick you are only accusing Damita because you are trying to ease your own concience. I feel like u are making Christaians look bad you and the so called Bishop Mccledon are bringing down the with your immoralities it would have been better if you were not public figures, you go and spread your dirty laundry all over the internet. You have no one to blame but your lack of self control. I am ashamed to call myself a christians whereas Pastors and Bishops do things like these. you will expect this from other celebrities but you are sickening

Why do we cast stones at each other? They all need our prayers. We don’t know what happened. They really do need our prayers.
I’m praying for our celebrities, they are human. Just like we hold jobs, so do they. Lift them up as they do their jobs.

First, I am grateful that GOD is still a GOD of mercy, and I know that HE has shown mercy in even this.
Secondly, we as children of the most High GOD must continually contend for the faith at all cost. This means, that our love and relationship with our Heavenly FATHER must surpass that of our natural desires. In my opinion, re-marriage is not an option for the Saint who knows the way. Reconciliation is how we do it, as to bring GOD Glory. Adultery nor fornication is new in the Church, but as Children of the most high GOD, we gotta believe that GOD is able to do just what HE said HE would do, HE alone can fulfill every promise to us, please don’t give up on GOD, HIS ways, believe me HE will not give up on us, so we definitely can’t give up on one another, we gotta believe that GOD is yet able!!!!! With prayer and supplication, I do believe, that this too can be mended. The choice is ours….

As Christians we need just PRAY instead of speculating or taking sides. However, as a church, WE ARE IN TROUBLE. We need be honest that sin is running rampant in the CHURCH BODY and that many are justifying their sins to satisfy the flesh. We all have fallen short but …we need be HONEST and not LIE about even accusations. If indeed adultery took place, it is hurtful and sometimes can try our faith, causing us to do a domino effect. It hurts even more when the parties are not honest about it and simply want to sweep it under the rug. But we all know what is done in the dark, on all sides, will be revealed in time. Too many ‘church folks’ sacrifice the Word of God and their faith for fame or to protect their public image. I say TELL THE TRUTH and you shall be set free. Repent, not only in words but in action. Be an example of TRUTH.

we may all post comments here blaming either of the three parties involved in this case….as for me i know one thing that there are some things that should not even be heard of in the christian community and faith. i wont blame deitrick damita or isaac because i wasnt there when all this took place coz again only the three of them know the truth plus God and the devil but if any of them is lying tha truth will come out in the open……watch this space
