Isaac Carree: Singer Addresses The Deitrick Haddon Accusations

Isaac & Deitrick

FULL DISCLOSURE: I know all of the parties involved in this story personally. I’ve even spent intimate time with Deitrick Haddon and his ex-wife Damita. Typically I would have refrained from reporting on a story where all three of the subjects happen to be friends of mine, however, over the weekend I was contacted by Deitrick and his camp and asked to report this information without attribution to him. I asked for a few days to think about the pitch because as I expressed during the call, I was completely uncomfortable with the fact that Deitrick did not want to do an on-the-record interview, but instead wanted the information “leaked.”  Ultimately, I passed on the opportunity because I thought the intent was bad and after speaking to various people involved and close to the situation, I believed that the allegation lacked merit. Apparently other journalists opted to not “leak” the information as well so Deitrick resulted to posting the information on his Facebook page.

Stellar Award winning singer Isaac Carree has spoken to AlwaysAList.com exclusively about accusations made about him by gospel singer Deitrick Haddon.

Deitrick & Damita Haddon

Deitrick and Damita quietly divorced in 2011 and the public only learned of their split in 2012 during a random series of Twitter posts by Deitrick during a trip to Africa. Now, In an inflammatory Facebook post made on Monday, Deitrick has accused Isaac and Damita of having an affair and claimed that ended his marriage.

“Coming clean in 2013 so God can really be truly glorified,” is how Deitrick started his long, spiritualized message that he claimed that he did not write “to throw anyone under the bus.” Regardless, half way through the message the former pastor attacked both his ex-wife and the ‘In the Middle’ vocalist.

Regarding Damita, Deitrick’s unedited message said: “I don’t expect Damita to be bold enough to go public because people will take her transparency & rub it in her face & even christians who are called to restore & forgive will be ready to throw stones at her for something that God has forgiven her for & is in her past. Unfortunately we happen to live in a religious community that preach forgiveness but when the opportunity presents itself to show it they just don’t do it!!!”

In the same paragraph, the 39-year-old singer lashed out at Isaac as well.

“Furthermore, I do expect Isaac Carree, former member of Men of Standard, to stand up and be man enough to own his mistakes & give his fans the truth they deserve to know. I appreciate your new song ‘Clean this house” you know I’ve always been a fan of yours since day one & I’ve never done anything to hurt you but you left one sin out of your song that would have set the record straight & solidified my healing process & that is Adultery! I hate to see you walk in deception when it’s unnecessary. Yes, I have forgiven you but I want to see you be the true man that God is calling for all of us to be.. The Gospel community & church has had enough deception.. Let’s come clean in 2013.. I have forgiven you, but it’s time to be real,” his unedited post read.

Isaac Carree

Though Deitrick has since removed the accusatory post from Facebook, the controversy has warranted enough attention that Isaac decided to speak to AlwaysAList.com exclusively about the matter.

“It has been brought to my attention that Deitrick Haddon recently made some very hurtful statements about me. I, as well as my wife, are both shocked and confused by Deitrick’s actions. It saddens me that he would seek to engage in mudslinging with me, especially because he and I have spoken openly and honestly about this, even long before his allegations. While I have no desire to drag these personal conversations into a public forum, he and I both know what the truth is. Still, I pray God’s best for him and his family,” Isaac told us.

Deitrick’s attack on Isaac comes in the midst of the singer promoting his new single ‘Clean This House,’ a song that speaks about God taking away the impurities of sin so that we can be clean. Though he has a robust schedule of promotional appearances and interviews scheduled in support of the single, the 39-year-old singer said he will not address this matter further moving forward.

“This weighs heavily on me, but I am grateful for the opportunity to speak from my heart. This will be the only statement that I will make regarding this situation,” he concluded.

Dietra & Isaac Carree

Deitrick has received major backlash from the Christian community for not disclosing he fathered a child out of wedlock by a 24-year-old woman in Los Angeles in early 2012. The baby news was first reported by DaGospelTruth.com and only after Deitrick announced his engagement to the mother of his child on Facebook without acknowledging they had a child together.

The DaGospelTruth.com story forced Deitrick to come clean and according to his team, “he was catching hell from it.”  His fans were outraged.

For whatever reason, Deitrick believes that making these accusations against Damita and Isaac now will deflect attention from the backlash he is receiving for his child, though Damita and Isaac have nothing to do with the fact that he fathered a child out of wedlock.

Damita has not commented on this story.

I feel like u are making Christaians look bad you and the so called Bishop Mccledon are bringing down the with your immoralities it would have been better if you were not public figures, you go and spread your dirty laundry all over the internet. You have no one to blame but your lack of self control. I am ashamed to call myself a christians whereas Pastors and Bishops do things like these. you will expect this from other celebrities but you are sickening

Why do we cast stones at each other? They all need our prayers. We don’t know what happened. They really do need our prayers.
I’m praying for our celebrities, they are human. Just like we hold jobs, so do they. Lift them up as they do their jobs.

I like what you just said Kimberly…Only God knows what happened!!!It’s a waste of time trying to figure out what happened between two individuals.Remain blessed!

Sad. It’s very discouraging when someone you expect to be above reproach falls. Yes we’re forgiven but God holds those who are in a position of authority to a higher standard because they are ministering to His sheep. God Bless

          • Roslyn Ford on said:

That is why Jesus paid it all.Pastors are to point us to christ the only one without sin.

      • ‘celebrities’? They are not celebrities, they are men of God, they are not Kardashians or what have you, don’t forget that.

Tamara, we shouldn’t be ashamed to being Christians. True , the church is becoming worldly but they that know their God will stand strong ,resist the Devil and his tactics and do exploit with God and for God

First, I am grateful that GOD is still a GOD of mercy, and I know that HE has shown mercy in even this.
Secondly, we as children of the most High GOD must continually contend for the faith at all cost. This means, that our love and relationship with our Heavenly FATHER must surpass that of our natural desires. In my opinion, re-marriage is not an option for the Saint who knows the way. Reconciliation is how we do it, as to bring GOD Glory. Adultery nor fornication is new in the Church, but as Children of the most high GOD, we gotta believe that GOD is able to do just what HE said HE would do, HE alone can fulfill every promise to us, please don’t give up on GOD, HIS ways, believe me HE will not give up on us, so we definitely can’t give up on one another, we gotta believe that GOD is yet able!!!!! With prayer and supplication, I do believe, that this too can be mended. The choice is ours….

As Christians we need just PRAY instead of speculating or taking sides. However, as a church, WE ARE IN TROUBLE. We need be honest that sin is running rampant in the CHURCH BODY and that many are justifying their sins to satisfy the flesh. We all have fallen short but …we need be HONEST and not LIE about even accusations. If indeed adultery took place, it is hurtful and sometimes can try our faith, causing us to do a domino effect. It hurts even more when the parties are not honest about it and simply want to sweep it under the rug. But we all know what is done in the dark, on all sides, will be revealed in time. Too many ‘church folks’ sacrifice the Word of God and their faith for fame or to protect their public image. I say TELL THE TRUTH and you shall be set free. Repent, not only in words but in action. Be an example of TRUTH.

we may all post comments here blaming either of the three parties involved in this case….as for me i know one thing that there are some things that should not even be heard of in the christian community and faith. i wont blame deitrick damita or isaac because i wasnt there when all this took place coz again only the three of them know the truth plus God and the devil but if any of them is lying tha truth will come out in the open……watch this space

How can anyone judge a man of faith he’s a child of the almighty God and no one else shall cast down judgement on their brothers or sisters and it states in 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not

  8. Linda Johnson on said:

Reading the canon [Bible] is simple, but living the commandments of God is altogether trying. The woman was first beguiled, in the garden of Eden. God planted that precious garden. I have nothing to write about the parties of this article because it’s none of my business except for whispering a prayer. Therefore, I will not assume, guess, think possible truths but the woman God created cancelled the command God Commanded to the man. Interesting, how the serpent approached the woman with the command spoken and instructed by God. High-point to notice in Genesis 3:1, Genesis 3:4-5, and Genesis 3:22. In addition, Job 1:6-12, Job 2:1-6, and Job 2:7. May I ask you the reader to consider, parking and pausing with Job 2:7 because Satan continued his mission for the next victim. Job, his family, and friends tried to discuss, that which God gave permission. Read: Romans 8:28 & Genesis 50:20. Now read: Job 42:12-17. Pray more, judge less, and trust God to restore every broken position. Prayer changes things. Gossip adds confusion, frustration, and celebration for Satan. Matthew: 18:15-17…what about Social Media?

IN the chapter of Matthew the golden rule is to do unto others as we would have them to do unto us. Bless deitrick Haddon and his family and all that were involved. 1 John 1:9 confess your sins and he is able to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. I thank you Deitrick Haddon for all the inspirational songs given to you by GOD that helped me through terrible situations.

What’s up with all the negative comments.!! We don’t knkw anything about anything. Only what is posted on this internet. God is the one who has the last say so. God is the only one who jugdes us. Not Deitrick, Damita, nor Isaac. Put it in Gods hands and not in the hands of this social networking. We all sjn and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus is the only man who is perfect. God knowx the truth, so therefore let himhandle it. Because I the endit is He will handle those christians who doesn’t make it onthat first rapture. So those who are posting negative things like “u disgust me”. Get your house in order Everyone…

Am I missing something here? Damita and Isaac had an affair which resulted in Deitrick and Damita’s divorce. So is he not allowed to move on with his life and date? Ok, so the woman got pregnant but he was at the end of of divorce proceedings. So he did not cheat on his wife, she cheated on him. Now the new girl got pregnant .. his business right? He has to feed that child, not us. He sat down from ministering (most preachers don’t) and has since married the girl who had his child. Can we now leave this man alone and let him live? Nope, judgmental Christians are the most evil group of people on the planet!!!!

    • Two wrongs don’t make a right. Deitrick is being a hypocrite in condemning the allegedly affair of Isaac and Damita, but wants to give an oblivious impression about him fornicating and having a child out of wedlock with another woman. Did I forget to mention that he is a PASTOR?

      • Keyania on said:

It seems as if you are being hypocritical, as I am. We should never pass judgment. Two wrongs don’t make it right, but if his wife was cheating first…then maybe she opened the door for adultery for Deitrick to do what he did. We were not there, truth be told…we don’t know for sure who did what. So for you to judge Deitrick as if you were personally involved is a crime shame. You are God’s people, but yet you pass judgment… Have you ever cheated, lied, judged, or had sex without being married? I am sure you have sinned in some form or fashion. Maybe you should post your private faults online, so that we all can judge you for being “wrong.”

        • hope on God on said:

Everybody that is speaking about judging should read their Bible more,it’s in there that the saints are to judge one another, they are not to be judged by the worldly, they are to correct one another and if they are leaders they are to be release from their duties until restore,if they decide to be truly restored, there is consequences for sin, although no one is perfect, you can’t change the bible to fit your life, the bible is to change your life to it.Prayers to all,but God word Do not change for sin

I would have thought mass murderers and rapists were evil people, but apparently they are nothing compared to those EEEVVIILLLLL christians. Give me a break. i don’t understand why everyone jumps on the bandwagon to hate Christianity, but no one discusses the faults of other religions like Catholicism or Islam. If you INSIST on criticizing, at least be fair and balanced.

    • Erika A on said:

Cicely I agree with you 100%

    • AMEN Cicely J.
I do not understand why we believe that a Pastor is without Sin? The Devil after all goes for those highest up Just as he did the disciples and Jesus. However our God is a Forgiving God and All of them did a wrong and they will be Forgiven by Our Lord so why is it we can not forgive?

  13. Jessica Moxey on said:

Now this comment is especially for Deitrick Haddon. Mr. Haddon, I am 12 year old and even I know when someones trying to play “The Blame Game”. I will admit that Damita and Issac are fault, but do not exclude yourself. I understand that all sins are equal in the site of God but the fact that you fathered a child out of the wedlock and now are accusing others of adultery is really disappointing because i was one of your fans.

    • Lisawarren92@Gmail.com on said:

If he was doing the gentlemanly thing by not putting it out there, why say anything after you had to step down he should have continued doing the gentlemanly thing by not blaming. That’s way I don’t believe he accusations.

  14. Niecie on said:

I love you Deitrick. You are forgiven and we all make mistakes. Just because he didn’t highlight his sins first doesnt mean he’s doing the blame game. He OWNED UP on NATIONAL TV when the show aired. He says he was sorry and even stepped down from senior pastor position at his church. He moved to LA and now he’s engaged. Im still a fan because everyone falls from grace. I still like Damita as well. We all fall but no one has room to say if he’s wrong or is playing “the blame game”, that’s for God to judge.

  15. Willie on said:

Let us all remember we are all human and satan still hates us. That being said like the song says “we fall down but we get up”. Remember the sin nature is still in us saved or not. This is why we try to live saved one day at a time. None of us have arrived when we ask for salvation. This is why we call this Christian thing “A daily walk”. The devil doesn’t care about titles when he attacks so no matter how famous you get as a pastor bishop whatever satan hates you and his job is to kill steal and destroy

  16. Destinee on said:

Yes the bible says he without sin cast the first stone but when you’re the Shepard leading the sheep how can you do this and not expect backlash? I’m 16 years old and when I found out this news it hurt me severly. How can I listen to someone say don’t do this and don’t do that when you’re out hear doing these things yourself? It’s not right. And if he wants to point fingers he has no room. Even if she was with him she has no pending proof against her he has a baby. Maybe this lady he’s married to now is his soul mate maybe not and I pray to God that this is the last time I hear about this and hoping he gets on the right track with Jesus.

May God above be the glory, judge ye not or less ye be judge. Be careful everyone who have a negative statement concerning Deitrick and Demita. Let God be God in all. I tip my hat to Deitrick for stepping down, most man would not do that, I’m glad you took ownership over your trail and gave it to our father. And now that you weather your storm’ you can shine as bright as you did before and even brighter. Congrats The Haddon s.

  18. Sophia Mahone on said:

I believe that everyone should pray for all the parties involved, and that no matter what actually happened, that everyone will end up where they need to be: in God. People make mistakes and things happen, but we can’t judge because we all fall short of the glory of God. The main problem is obviously not what happened because we know that was wrong, but rather the way it was handled. Social media is never a proper medium of serious discourse, especially about your private life. Deitrick should have known this. The most important steps from here on out is that everyone involved keeps their nose clean, and recommits to God. Whenever God releases them to publicly discuss what happened, then it will be in the proper timing and venue (hopefully).

When are my people going to wake up. This is so sad A man cheats on his wife, and to redirect from hisself, he blames his wife and a married friend with friends like that you don’t need enemies. A man is a man is a man. If I need legal advice I go to an attorney, if I need medical attention I go to a doctor, if I need financial help I go to a bank or work more hour. If I have relationship issues I sit down with that Person and try to work the issue out. With that being said what the heck I need a Pastor for.

I’ve just recently found joy and peace in listening to gospel music. I’m truely disapointed that urban gospel seems to have just as much ridiculously unnecessary drama unfolding as modern pop culture. We’re all human so its not as though gospel leaders are exempt from making mistakes, but they should really practice what they preach…

  23. Wathcful1 on said:

    1 Corinthians 13
    New International Version (NIV)
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

    Galatians 6:1

    New International Version (NIV)
    Doing Good to All
6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.

    Matthew 18:15-17
    New International Version (NIV)
Dealing With Sin in the Church
15 “If your brother or sister[a] sins,[b] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[c] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

  24. This is why the Word of God is alive and True because whenever we engage in these kinds of acts like adultery, fornication, and all other kinds of wicker behavior it is an affliction on so many, remember the innocents, the kids, for instance Deitrick new child will have to be seen as an illigitament child the rest of her little life and whenever someone looks at her or thinks of her they will see her in this light because. Isaacs wife and kids; something must have happened between Isaac and Damita that gives cause to Detricks accusations and the fact that Damita is not coming forward with a statement either way. So look at this everyone: “for the LOVE of Money is the root of ALL EVIL”! I hear their hearts convictions in their music, I do, but this has made them simply made, there is no peace within, only contention. All they can do now is sell everything they have and give it to the poor then follow Jesus!

First of all it sickens me to read all of the comments posted here. We must remember that they are human and there are NO perfect beings except Jesus Christ, Himself. Secondly, and MOST importantly, NONE OF US WAS THERE, so NONE OF US knows what actually happened, therefore it is NONE OF ANY OF OUR BUSINESS!!!!! It doesn’t matter if the accusations are true or not or who did what first because at the end of the day God is the ONLY ONE who can pass judgement on any of the people involved in this situation, so EVERYBODY needs to stop backbiting and gossiping and mind your own business and let God do what He needs to do for the souls involved.
