Stellar Award-winning gospel artist James Fortune recorded his first-ever live record on Sept. 6 at the Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Atlanta, GA.
The 34-year-old star and his group, F.I.Y.A., recorded 12 new songs that featured special guests like Da Truth (‘Built For This’), Alexis Spight (‘He Did It All For Me’), Todd Galberth (‘Forever You Are’), Isaac Carree (‘Empty Me’), Israel Houston (‘Light The Way’), Josiah Martin (‘Never Forsake Me’), Zacardi Cortes (‘You Have Won Again’), Lisa Knowles & Minon Bolton (‘Miracles For Me’) and Tasha Cobbs, who performed a powerful worship medley.
Another song, ‘Live Through It,’ birthed from recent occurrences in Fortune’s life that “had him at his lowest point,” he explained, really resonated with the capacity crowd. That song is the first single from Fortune’s forthcoming live release, slated for early 2014.
Fortune also paid tribute to Sabrina Fulton, the mother of the late Trayvon Martin. One of Fortune’s singers penned an original song about Martin and she performed it as well.
In addition to his musical endeavors, the award-winning songwriter/producer/arranger is also a radio personality. The Houston-based talent began hosting a nationally-syndicated evening radio program called “The James Fortune Show” for Radio One back in May.
