Mary Mary singer Tina Campbell and her husband, singer/musician Teddy Campbell are the proud parents of a new baby boy.
The newest addition to the family, Santana Campbell was born on Saturday Aug. 4, 2012 at 9:16 a.m. The baby was born weighing 7lbs. 5 oz, and measuring 19.5 inches.
“With the biggest grin plastered across his face, my husband and proud dad, Teddy, held my hand, as I cried tears of joy when my doctor handed me our new son, Santana Campbell. After nine challenging months of carrying our son, every second of it all became so worth it, in this moment. We’re so privileged to have, once again, experienced the gift of childbirth,” Tina said in a statement to AlwaysAList.com.
Tina learned that she was pregnant during the taping of her WE TV reality series with sister Erica Campbell, also titled “Mary Mary.” The pregnancy was completely unexpected.
The Campbell’s new son is the couple’s fourth child together, and Teddy’s fifth – he has a daughter Cierra from a previous relationship. They also have a daughter Laiah, 8, a daughter Meela, 5, and a son Ted Jr., 2.
Mary Mary recently released a greatest hits compilation that features one new song, “Go Get It,” which is also the name of the CD. Their WE TV reality show has been renewed for a second season and returns on December 13, 2012.
Teddy, who sings in the gospel quartet The Soul Seekers, is also the percussionist for Ricky Minor’s house band on NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
