Actress Elise Neal is getting into the hair business. The star of TV shows like “The Hughleys” and “All of Us,” and films like “Hustle & Flow” and “Scream 2,” has been tapped to design a signature collection of hair accessories for California Lace Wigs & Weaves.
“Okay you know I have been rockin’ my weaves for like 15 years or more, so when California Laces Wigs & Weaves asked me to be a spokesperson for the company, I was very excited,” the actress told AlwaysAList.com.
California Lace Wigs & Weaves was founded in 2006 by Annette Jones, a California native and hair enthusiast. Starting as a part-time home-based business, the company has since grew into a thriving enterprise and has become a major player in the lace wigs and hair extensions community.
Neal, who was born and raised in Memphis, Tenn., said her debut collection for California Lace Wigs & Weaves is inspired by her southern roots.
“I named my products Hollywood Belle because, well, that is me,” she laughed. “I am a southern belle at heart who happens to be working here in Hollywood! This line will always be on point with the new and hot styles for all the Hollywood Belles of the world.”
Neal wears her signature line on her new TV One sitcom, ironically titled, “Belles!” The show is set in a southern restaurant owned by her family and also stars Miguel Nunez, Jr. (“Juwanna Mann”) and Tami Roman (“Basketball Wives“).
The actress shared that her first collection of Hollywood Belles for California Laces Wigs & Weaves is an “ombre line of hair for weaving.”
“Ombre is big right now,” she continued. “Folks from Khloe Kardashian to Rihanna have all worn their hair this way. As a woman who loves fashion in all forms – hair included – I take note of what people are rockin’ and what’s trending!”
Neal, who just wrapped production on a new film called “1982” with Hill Harper, Sharon Leal, Wayne Brady and LaLa Anthony, also stars in Russ Parr’s buzzworthy independent film “The Undersheperd,” which just won Best Picture at the American Black Film Festival.
