Road Reunion: Ford Focused On Families During Essence Festival Weekend

In 2009, following the exit of Chevrolet, Ford drove into New Orleans and became a premiere brand sponsor of the Essence Festival.  Seven years later, they’re going strong as a partner of what’s now become one the largest consumer live events in America.

This year, the company known for vehicles like the Taurus, Fiesta, Expedition, Focus, Explorer and Edge had a huge family reunion-themed exhibit space at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The automotive brand showcased new models of its C-Max, Ford GT and Mustang at its popular booth pavilion that resembled a large backyard barbecue.

In addition to being able to snack at the Ford cafe and take home some brand gifts, the Detroit-based company had its annual “Ride and Drive” for festival-goers, which offered attendees a chance to test drive some of the Ford vehicles.

SiriusXM also broadcasted live from the Ford booth and the who’s who of festival headliners and recording artists and celebrities at Essence for other events came through to greet fans and appear on the radio platform.

One lucky fan also drove away from the Essence Festival with a brand new 2017 Ford Fusion that was presented by “The Real” co-host Loni Love.

Ford capped off their Essence Festival experience by hosting a private dinner at New Orleans’ Mardi Gras World for select media guests, influencers, Essence editors and Ford executives. Motivational Speaker Tony Gaskins was the special guest for the dinner and inspired the room with his poignant words.
