Fresh off of scoring his 14th triple-double of the season, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook is having an incredible run both on and off the basketball court.
The 27-year-old point guard just launched his newest collection for True Religion for their Spring/Summer 2016 season.
A follow-up to their 2015 Holiday collaboration, where Westbrook served as their creative consultant, the latest offering marks the first design collaboration with the premium denim brand featuring a co-branded, denim-centric collection from both Russell’s and True Religion’s points of view.
“I am a risk-taker and boundary-pusher, as is True Religion which is why it makes sense to continue this partnership. I like that they stand for having confidence in what you are wearing and sticking to your true style,” said Westbrook.
The new line featured 15 pieces ranging in price from $79-$799 and consisting of denim, knits, wovens, active, and outerwear that can be worn together or as separates.
“I love that every piece is designed to work together. It’s so versatile that you can layer or take away to make a look uniquely your own,” added Westbrook.
The five-time NBA All-Star and a two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP is known for his fashion-forward style. Unlike a lot of professional athletes, Westbrook does not employ a stylist, but instead dresses himself.
The True Religion line isn’t the Long Beach, Calif. native’s first venture into fashion. He previously partnered with the company Public School on a line called Russell Westbrook XO Barneys New York x Public School sold in Barneys department stores.
The high-end retailer also carries a fragrance by the athlete called Westbrook, a collaboration with the perfumer Byredo. The scent retails for $350 a bottle.
