Faith Evans

Grammy Award winner Faith Evans is releasing a new CD in collaboration with her cast members from TV One’s “R&B Divas.”

The album, which boasts the same name as the reality series, features appearances by fellow R&B vocalists Nicci Gilbert of Brownstone, Syleena Johnson, Monifah Carter and Keke Wyatt.  Proceeds from the CD will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Academy of Creative and Performing Arts, an institution that Houston attended, located in her hometown of East Orange, NJ.

“I’m extremely excited about executive producing this Faith Evans’ ‘R&B Divas’ album and working beside some of the premiere female R&B vocalists of our generation,” said Evans. “I’m also proud to honor to my dear friend and music Icon, Ms. Whitney Houston and give back to the community in doing my part to help save performing arts in schools. Making this album has been an incredible experience, and every true fan of R&B music will be touched by these beautiful songs of love, hope and triumph!”

Released on eOne Music, in conjunction with Prolific Music Group, Inc., the project will be led by Evans’ first single, “Tears of Joy,” which was written by multiple Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer, Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony.

The CD will also feature the theme show to the TV One series, ““Lovin Me,” which was co-written by “R&B Divas” star Gilbert, along with Belle Johnson and Gharah “PK” Degeddungseze.

TV One’s “R&B Divas” reality series premiered on Monday, Aug. 20. The show chronicles the real lives of the five R&B singers, who work to overcome the high and lows of the music business while trying to balance real life obstacles.

The CD, “R&B Divas” will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
