Grammy-nominated music artist Kierra Sheard is preparing hit the road this summer with her first solo tour and a new all-girl band.
Kierra is currently scouting female band members for her “Kierra” tour through online auditions; in addition to finding female acts to open up her shows.
Her tour run will kick off on July 23 in her hometown of Detroit and currently is scheduled to play into the fall, hitting cities like Chicago; Cleveland; Philadelphia; Washington, DC; Atlanta; Charlotte; Nashville; New York City; Richmond, VA; and Jackson, MS. Additional dates are being confirmed.
The Detroit-bred daughter of The Clark Sisters’ Karen Clark-Sheard and Pastor John Drew Sheard, Kierra wants her solo tour to be a night of inspiration, healing and empowerment for those who attend.
“I want those that come, to leave feeling refreshed. Transparency, God, love, music, and more is what I’ll have to offer. I’ll have fun on this tour and do things that I’ve never done before. I will not be prohibited or stopped by anyone but God! I won’t worry about what’s said, I’m going for a raw experience! People don’t want fake experiences. They want what’s real. We all want to feel like we aren’t alone while doing this thing called ‘life,'” said Kierra.
Having launched her curvy girl fashion line Eleven60 last summer, Kierra hopes to partner with other female entrepreneurs and faith-based business owners to showcase their goods and services on her tour stops.
“Having launched my own brand and put my heart and soul into making it successful, I want other women and even men to be inspired by that and strive for the same success. Hopefully my tour can be a place where those business owners can showcase their goods and services and reach the young, hip, trend-setting Christians that will come out each night,” Kierra told AlwaysAList.com.
A former child prodigy, whose debut album “I Owe You,” was certified gold in Japan, Kierra has made an international impact with her music.
After five full-length albums, two remix CDs and her latest release, the EP “LED;” Kierra hopes take her reach to another level by launching a new mobile app on Thursday, May 12.
“I’m so excited about this app! You will essentially be able to ‘Unlock My World’ as I provide exclusive photos, live video streams, music, my obsessions, and a lot more,” shared Kierra. “I’m too excited for the release and can’t wait to take my fans along with me on this interactive journey.”
In the next chapter of her career, Kierra aims to bridge the gap between the church community and mainstream society. As a step towards doing that, the 28-year-old vocalists will feature covers of her performing music from various genres, including songs like Coldplay’s “Paradise,” Ellie Goulding’s “On My Mind,” Sia’s “Chandelier,” and Beyoncé’s “If I Were A Boy.”
Before hitting the road this summer, the judge on BET’s “Sunday Best” competition series will head to New Orleans and pay tribute to her family, The Clark Sisters during the Essence Festival.
