Mack Wilds is maintaining the momentum of his 2014 Grammy nomination by announcing a spring tour that will kick off with a performance of his hit single, ‘Own It’ on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Wednesday.
The R&B/Hip Hop star will embark on a nine-city tour to support his debut CD, ‘New York: A Love Story’ with dates in Las Vegas, NV; New York City; Baltimore, MD; Washington, DC; Willington, DE; Alfred, NY; Richmond, VA; and Hollywood, FL.
Wilds, who performed several shows at SXSW Festival in Austin, TX, has also dropped a second single ‘Henny,’ which recently went for adds at radio.
In addition to his music endeavors, the 24-year-old entertainer is featured in the Sean John Spring “Dream Big” ad campaign. The 2014 campaign, which spotlights men who have made their dreams a reality, also features Rob Beitzel, Chef Roble Ali, Pheo and Cashius Green.
Born in Staten Island, New York, Wilds rose to stardom using his first name, Tristan, as an actor on TV series like “The Wire” and “90210.”
In the 2008 film, “The Secret Life of Bees,” Wilds showcased his singing skills during a scene in the movie. The star of “Red Tails” also had one of his songs, ‘2 Girls’ featured in an episode of “90210.”
Prior to signing his recording contract with Sony-distributed Remi Fa record label in 2013, he released a free mixtape “Remember, Remember” in November 2011.
