After appearing at the 2012 BET Awards together and disclosing they intended to work as a collective again, Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank have solidified their plans for a TGT project and just inked a deal with a record company to release it.
Tyrese revealed on Twitter that TGT has signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records, which happens to also be the current label home of group member Tank.
“It’s no longer just a vision… it’s REAL!” he wrote, via @Tyrese.
The trio’s first full CD is slated to be released in early 2013. TGT is also planning to go out on what’s being called the “Shirts Off” tour to support the CD.
Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank first announced their idea for a joint album as TGT back in 2007.
To generate buzz for their TGT effort then, the three vocalists recorded a remix of Tank’s hit single “Please Don’t Go.”
Another track called “Sex” surfaced online and the group also appeared on a Slim Thug song called “Let Me Grind.”
In 2008, Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank revealed that the CD concept had been scrapped.
TGT is an ode to LSG, the late 90’s R&B trio made of R&B stars Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill.
