Despite their divorce being finalized in September after a domestic violence incident the month before, rumors have been swirling for the last several weeks that the former NFL star and the reality TV personality had quietly gotten back together.
On Sunday, the 36-year-old star of VH1’s “Basketball Wives” accompanied the 34-year-old athlete to a regular dinner that he hosts for 100 Twitter followers at South Street restaurant in Miami.
Fans took photos as the tumultuous pair arrived holding hands, smiling and looking like a happy couple.
Other than a recent appearance in a Florida court where Lozada requested the judge drop the restraining order she had against her ex-husband, the pair had not been seen in public together until Sunday.
Johnson, who competed on season 10 of “Dancing with the Stars,” recently appeared on ESPN and apologized for being physically abusive to Lozada.
The Miami-bred running back formerly known as Ochocinco acknowledged that his behavior with his ex-wife exhibited “poor judgment” and shared that he has been getting necessary counseling.
Lozada, who recently posed nude for PETA, appeared on a record-breaking two-part episode of OWN Network’s “Iyanla, Fix My Life” to work with life coach Iyanla Vanzant about managing her own anger issues. She also addressed why her marriage failed.
Neither Johnson nor Lozada have formally confirmed that they have rekindled their relationship.
AlwaysAList.com did confirm with a source close to the couple that the appearance was not related to “Basketball Wives” and no television cameras were involved.
