One of Atlanta’s most-prominent couples, singer/actress Demetria McKinney and TV and film producer Roger Bobb have called it quits.
The two, who were featured prominently on season seven of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” when McKinney joined the cast, got engaged this past January after nearly nine years of dating on and off.
The 48-year-old CEO of Bobbcat Films – who previously served as Executive Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios – popped the question during a New Years Day concert in Detroit where McKinney opened for R. Kelly.
AlwaysAList.com actually interviewed the pair on camera at the Essence Festival in New Orleans over the Independence Day weekend for Essence All Access and they appeared happy then.
But despite talk of a September 2016 wedding, McKinney and Bobb have gone their separate ways.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, the former star of “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” shared a photo with her new boyfriend, Eric “Nealante” Phillips. (See the full image below the story)
“Life is good. I am happy, making amazing music with @nealante, and in a new relationship ….yes, with this cutie right here!” she wrote, before posting several emojis of the kissing face. “Looking forward to all the future has in store❣ #happy #love #music #demetriamckinney #livinglife #newbeginnings”
Her new beau Phillips is the CEO of Music Room Entertainment, which is apparently a recording studio based in Atlanta.
McKinney, a native of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, has been working on her debut album “Officially Yours.” The powerhouse vocalist has already released several singles including “100” featuring Da Brat, “Unnecessary Trouble” featuring Kandi Burruss and “Trade It All.”
