A new day and new drama for trouble-prone R&B singer Chris Brown.
The 23-year-old entertainer could be in violation of his probation following a fight at a Los Angeles recording studio with R&B singer Frank Ocean.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office spokesman Steve Whitmore has confirmed that Ocean is now “desirous of prosecution” and officials are working to “find out what happened.”
Initial reports by TMZ claimed that Ocean “started” the altercation with Brown over a parking space. Those claims were made by unnamed associates of Brown.
But L.A. authorities later confirmed that it was Ocean that was actually attacked and they are referring to him as “the victim.”
Ocean, who publically came out in July 2012 as a bisexual, took to Twitter to address the issue. He tweeted: “got jumped by chris and a couple guys. Lol. I only wish everest was there.” Everest is his dog.
The attack will have an impact on the Grammy-nominee’s performance at the Grammy ceremony on the Feb. 10. Ocean also posted via Twitter: “cut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the grammys.”
Brown used Instagram to address the issue in a cryptic manner. He posted under a photo from the studio after the altercation took place with a caption that said: “Working on my album. Not working on negativity. Focus on feeding ya family. Bulls— will forever be in the shadows.”
There have been rumors that Brown would be performing with Rihanna at the Grammys. The performance would have brought the couple full circle as it was on the eve of the 2009 Grammys when the Tappahannock, Virginia-bred talent violently attacked Rihanna.
There is now speculation that the Grammys plan to cancel that performance amid Brown’s latest drama.
